💌 My Personal Note

In Japan, we have a tradition called ōsōji, or year-end cleaning. At the end of the year, we clean our homes to refresh the space and welcome the New Year with a clear, peaceful feeling. Schools, offices, and households all take part—it’s a meaningful way to close out the year.

I’ve been working on areas I don’t usually get to, and today I gave our front door a deep clean. It feels so nice to start fresh!

Do you have any special year-end traditions where you live?

Thanks for reading. Matane またね!

It’s a simple, cozy bowl of soba noodles enjoyed on New Year’s Eve. Toshikoshi means “crossing over” from one year to the next. The long noodles symbolize a long, healthy life, and the warm broth is such a peaceful, comforting way to end the year. Our Toshikoshi Soba for 2025!
